Enrolling at AVRO Academy
Choosing a new school for a teen who has struggled is a big, careful decision, and we treat it that way. Admission at AVRO starts with a conversation, not a form. You get to know us, we get to know your teen, and together we decide whether this is the right place for them to thrive.
Ontario curriculum · OSSD credits · Ministry-inspected · Grades 9 to 12 · Registration open year round
How enrollment works
Four simple, human steps. No rush, and a real person with you at each one.
Step 1
Reach out and book a visit
Start with a conversation. Join a virtual open house Q and A, or book a personal meeting for your family so you can see how AVRO works and ask anything on your mind.
Step 2
Apply online
When you are ready, complete the registration form with your student’s details. Once we receive it, our Registrar reaches out to confirm your enrolment or waitlist status.
Step 3
Meet the team
We book an in-person or virtual interview with the student and parents. We review any current IEP, listen to your challenges, needs, and goals, and identify the learning strategies that fit your teen best.
Step 4
Enroll and join us
We confirm courses, schedule, and a start date, and our teachers begin building the dynamic IEP that grows with your teen. Your student joins a supportive community and meets peers who share similar goals.
What to expect
Admission here is personal, not a numbers game. After we receive your registration form, we contact you to schedule a meeting to select courses, set schedules, and talk through your teen’s learning strategies. Nothing is locked in until you and we both feel it is the right fit. If it helps, payment plans are available on request to the Registrar, and our team is happy to walk you through the options.
Because our programs are individualized, registration stays open all year. Whenever a student’s needs change, we help make the move happen, whether that is a fresh start in September or a mid-year switch when a current school stops working. You do not have to wait for a set intake date to begin the conversation.

Is AVRO the right fit for your teen?
We were built for a specific student. Families often find AVRO is a strong match when a teen:
- Is not thriving in a traditional school because of stress, anxiety, bullying, or scheduling conflicts
- Has a complex Individual Education Plan, attention differences, or significant anxiety or depression
- Is atypical, gifted, or on the spectrum, whether diagnosed or not
- Is bright and capable but has become disengaged and needs a smaller, calmer place to do their best work
Not sure if your teen fits the picture? The best way to know is to talk with us. That is exactly what a visit is for.
