Repeat Courses · Midtown Toronto
Retake a course, lift a grade, recover a credit.
Sometimes a course does not go the way your teen hoped. At AVRO in midtown Toronto, they can repeat an Ontario high school credit they have already completed, with private or semi-private instruction, to improve a grade or recover a credit in a supportive setting.
How repeating a course works
A repeat course lets your teen take a credit again, this time with the individual attention that a big class rarely allows. You can enrol in a repeat course for any high school credit your teen has previously completed, whether the goal is a stronger grade for a program they are aiming at or recovering a credit that did not come together the first time.
Instruction is private or semi-private. Your teen can work one-to-one with a teacher, or a small friend group of two or three students can enrol together for a low class ratio while still getting close, personal support. Either way, the course follows the full Ontario curriculum and earns a genuine OSSD credit, held to the same completion standards as any other course at AVRO.
Because the second time through is usually more about confidence than brand-new material, we keep the tone supportive rather than remedial. Your teen revisits the ideas that gave them trouble, fills the gaps at a pace that suits them, and finishes with a result they can feel good about, without the pressure that made the first attempt hard.
What to know about repeat courses
Who it is for
Students who have already completed a high school course and want a stronger grade, or who need to recover a credit before moving on.
Private or semi-private
Work one-to-one with a teacher, or enrol with a friend or two for a small-group ratio that still keeps the attention personal.
A real OSSD credit
Repeat courses follow the full Ontario curriculum and meet the same completion standards, so the credit counts toward the OSSD.
